Background
I obtained an undergraduate degree in University College Cork (UCC), a Masters degree in National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in NUIG. My doctoral thesis explored the experiences of adoptees entering parenthood. I am passionate about the area of adoption and children in care. I am currently a member of the Adoption Research Network of Ireland (ARNI).
I have worked in numerous clinical settings, including HSE Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services; HSE Adult Mental Health Services; Brothers of Charity Services for both school-aged children and adults; Tusla Child and Family Agency; and St Patrick’s Mental Health Services.
Since 2023 I have worked with The Adult Autism & ADHD Practice undertaking neuro-affirmative Autistic identifications (assessments) and more recently, neuro-affirmative ADHD identifications (assessments).
