Dr Mary Egan, Clinical Psychologist Co Kerry

About Me

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) (Membership number: M9772C). My therapeutic approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and neuro-affirmative. Developing a meaningful therapeutic alliance, built on trust, respect and the co-creation of meaning is really important to me. I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship built between client and Psychologist is most important, which is also strongly backed up by research. I endeavour to create a safe space for clients to express themselves openly.

I am trained in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).  However, I work in a integrative way, which means tailoring therapy to fit each client and their unique story, strengths and challenges.

Sessions are 50 minutes in duration and take place in the All Therapy Centre, in Tralee. I also have a limited number of spaces for facilitating therapy online. As it can understandably take several sessions to build trust and rapport, I recommend starting with a block of 6 sessions.

My interests outside of work include my gorgeous cats, reading and travel.
